Abstract: Two dibenzofuran,2-acetyl-9b-carbmethoxy-7,9-dihydroxy-8-methyl-1,3(2H,9bH)-dibenzofurandione(1) and 2,6-diacetyl-7,9-dihydroxy-8,9b-dimethyl-1,3(2H,9bH)-dibenzofurandione (2) also known as (+)-Usnic acid, were identified as heterocyclic natural compounds from lichen Parmelia perlata. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of different spectroscopic techniques.
