Abstract: Sapotaceae is a family of flowering plants that known with wide range of chemical constituents like saponins, flavonoids and poly phenolic compounds. Phenolic compounds are widely distributed in plant kingdom and have several biological activities as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, antidiabetic and antiulcer. This review focuses on the phenolic compounds identified in different species of family sapotaceae and their biological activities.
