Author(s): Sarvjeet, SC Vimal, Jai Prakash Gupta and Ashish Singh
Abstract: The field experiments under present investigation were conducted during Rabi 2014-15 and 2015-16 at Student Instructional Farm and lab experiments were carried out in Seed Testing Laboratory of Seed Technology Section, N. D. University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad (U.P.) with objective of to determine best combination of biofortification and hydropriming for yield contributing traits and seed quality parameters i.e. days to 50% flowering, Days to maturity, Plant height (cm) 30 and 60 DAS, No. of branches per plant 30 and 60 DAS, number of pod/plant, number of seed/pod, Biological Yield (g), harvest index, 100 seed weight (g), seed yield kg/ha, germination (%), seedling length (cm), vigour index, seed yield/plant (g). The experiments were conducted in factorial RBD design with three levels of biofertlizer (Rhizobium 7.5g, 10g, 12.5g, Trichoderma 5g, 7.5g, 10g and PSB 7.5g, 10g, 12.5g) and seed priming (13, 16, 18 hrs) in chickpea variety (Pant G-186), result revealed that inoculation of biofertilizers significantly improved plant height at 30 and 60 days, number of branches per plant on 30 and 60 days, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, biological yield, harvest index, 100- seed weight, seed yield, seed germination, seedling length, vigour index and seed yield per plant. Overall the treatment of Rhizobium dose 12.5g with 16 hrs hydropriming produced higher seed yield (2170.08 Kg) in first year and (2083.17 Kg) in second year, respectively. On the basis of present study it was concluded that nodulation and seed yield of chickpea can be improved by inoculation with Rhizobium and hydropriming 16 hrs which could be economically feasible to increase chickpea production.
