Effect of Nitrogen Levels and Splitting on Nutrient Uptake and Soil Fertility Status in Pre-Monsoon Established Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Abstract:
The field experiment was conducted at the Research cum Instructional Farm, IGKV, Raipur (C.G.) during kharif season of 2015. The experiment was laid out in split-plot design with three replications. The treatment composed of three nitrogen levels N1 (100 kg N ha-1), N2 (125 kg N ha-1) and N3 (150 kg N ha-1) assigned to main plot and six nitrogen splitting S1–3 Splits (20:50:30 at 0, 30, 60 DAS), S2–3 Splits (20:50:30 at 10-12, 30, 60 DAS), S3–4 Splits (20:25:25:30 at 0, 20, 40, 60 DAS), S4–4 Splits (20:25:25:30 at 10-12, 20, 40, 60 DAS), S5–5 Splits (20:20:20:30:10 at 0, 20, 40, 60, DAS & FL) and S6–5 Splits (20:20:20:30:10 at 10-12, 20, 40, 60, DAS & FL) were allotted to sub-plot. The crop was fertilized with 60 kg P2O5 and 40 kg K2O ha-1. Among nitrogen levels and splitting, N3 (150 kg N ha-1) with S6–5 Splits (20:20:20:30:10 at 10-12, 20, 40, 60, DAS & FL), recorded the maximum nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium uptake kg ha-1 and soil available nitrogen but lower in soil available phosphorus and potassium.
