Identification of phytochemicals in hydro alcohol extract of annona muricata fruit using GC-MS analysis

Abstract: Investigation of phytochemicals present in hydroalcoholic fruit extract of Annona muricata using Gas chromatography and Mass spectroscopy (GC-MS) was done by as per standard protocol. The GC-MS analysis revealed the presence of various compounds like 2-Furancarboxaldehyde, 5-Methyl, 2,4-Dihydroxy-2,5-dimethyl-3(2H)-furan-3-one, Pentanoic acid, 4-oxo- $$ Levulinic acid, 1,3,5-Triazine-2,4,6-triamine $$ Melamine $, dl-Glyceraldehyde dimer, Heptanoic acid, 6-oxo- $$ 6-Oxoheptanoic acid # $$, Tetradecanoic acid $$ Myristic acid $$ n-Tetradecanoic acid, 9,12,15-Octadecatrienoic acid, (Z,Z,Z), Octadecanoic acid $$ Stearic acid $$ in hydroalcholic fruit extract Annona muricata. These findings suggest that the fruit of Annona muricata contains variable and valuable bioactive compounds which has potential role in treating various disease condition
