Stability and correlation analysis for yield and its component traits in linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.)

Author(s): PC Yadav, RK Yadav, Vishwanath, Yogesh Panday and Sanjeev Kumar
Abstract: A field experiment was conducted during Rabi season of 2015-16. To study the stability analysis of yield and its component traits in 20 genotypes of linseed at three locations viz.; Kanpur, Mainpuri and Mauranipur for some biological traits, viz.; 1000-seed weight (g), seed yield per plant (g), oil content (%), protein content (%), palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid and linolenic acid. In the present study of material SJKO-05 for 1000-seed weight (g), seed yield per plant (g) and protein content (%) were found to be stable because b1 was near to unity, S2 di was not significant and mean values were less than population mean which was desirable. NP121 and NPRR 271 for palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid and linolenic acid were found to be stable because b1 was near to unity, S2 di was not significant and mean values were less than population mean which was desirable. 1000- Seed weight (g) was correlated positively and significant with protein content (%) and linoleic acid. Seed yield per plant (g) was correlated positively and significant with oleic acid. Oil content (%) was correlated positively and significant with stearic acid. Protein content (%) was correlated positively and significant with linoleic acid. Palmitic acid was correlated positively and significant with linoleic acid.
