Abstract:
From the root of
Caralluma attenuata belonging to the family
Asclepiadaceae, a novel pentacyclic triterpenoid was isolated and its structure was elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data. It has two hydroxyl groups and named as
attendiol. This is the first report of such novel pentacyclic triterpenoid from
Caralluma attenuata root.
