Abstract:

Due to restriction on use of experimental animals worldwide in research to reduce cruelty to animals’ day by day it is becoming difficult to carry out determination of activity of new entities of synthetic as well as off natural origin. In India it has become mandatory to set up CPCSEA committee at research center and submit a proposal to Committee for The Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA) then only use of animals is allowed that too in restricted numbers. Hence as alternative in vitro models can play a significant role in identification of potential of new entity of synthetic or natural origin to study insulin resistance sensitivity. Hence with this purpose a review is done on various in vitro models that can be used and as information is in one single article, it will be of great help for scientific community.
