Many times hirak bhasma is not much affordable due to the routine and costly bhasmikaran process. Due to it’s high cost many needy patients can’t afford it. In Ayurved Prakash, a method of hirak bhamsa is mentioned which requires comparatively less time, less labour, less cost and is much affordable. Three batches of hirak bhasma were prepared and were pharmaceutically analysed on classical and modern parameters. In XRF analysis of hirak bhasma light elements (carbon, hydrogen and oxygen) were found. In XRD analysis, various compounds like hematite, quartz were seen in all three batches. In FTIR analysis, various peaks of functional groups from saindhav, kulattha and hingu were seen. In particle size analysis, size of major particles were reached to micro size and some particles at nano size. Classical parameters were also attained. So the hirak bhasma was prepared and scharacterized with the comparatively cost effective method mentioned in Ayurved Prakash.
