Lavandula bipinnata (Roth) Kuntze., Synonym L. burmanni Benth. is an important medicinal plant distributed in Indian forests. L. bipinnata is a great source of essential oil and secondary metabolites. There are around 29 important compounds in essential oil. It also contains alkaloids, steroids, terpenoids, carotenoids, flavonoid, tannins, glycosides, saponin and gum. Pharmacological point of view extracts of L. bipinnata roots, stem, leaves, and inflorescence exhibited antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anticancer and insect repellent activities.
