According to Ayurveda, dengue fever can be considered as a type of Visham Jwara / Dandak Jwara, characterized by fluctuations in temperature. In Ayurveda, Dengue Fever can be correlated with Vata-Pitta Jwara, which is characterized by an imbalance in the Vata and Pitta doshas. This correlation is based on the symptoms seen in dengue, such as high fever, body aches, joint pain, headache, nausea, and a burning sensation, which are typical signs of Vata and Pitta imbalances. It reflects the predominance of increased Vata and Pitta and the methods to control these elements. Therefore, it is very important to prevent this persistent infectious disease using authentic methods described in Ayurveda. Dengue is a viral infection that spreads to humans through the bite of infected mosquitoes. Dengue is the fastest-growing vector-borne viral illness, transmitted by female Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. It is often referred to as "breakbone fever" due to symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, intense muscle and joint pain, rashes, and in some cases, hemorrhagic shock, which can be fatal in about one-third of patients.
