Pandu Roga is a one the disease mentioned in Ayurveda characterized by change in skin colour to Sheweta (White), Peeta (Yellowish), Harita (greenish) etc. which one of the Varnopalakshita Roga i.e. disease characterized by change in colour. Acharya Charaka has mentioned that due to consumption of Pittakar Nidana, Pitta located in Hridaya (Sadhak Pitta) get aggravated and being expelled from Hridya by powerful Vata and enter Dasha Dhamanya and circulate all over body. This leading to abnormal type of colouration like Pandu, Haridra and Harita to the skin. Alap Rakta, Alap Meda, Ojakshaya, Vaivarnyatva of Sareera are Pratyam Lakshana of Pandu Roga. Meda Kshaya or decrease in Meda Dhatu is clinically present in many patients with Pandu. In Pandu, primary feature are due to pitta Prakop, Rakta Kshaya (Reduction of blood) and Medo Kshaya. Anemia is blood disorder characterized by reduction in red blood cell, hemoglobin conten, packed cell volume. Iron deficiency anemia is the one of type of anemia, that occurs when body does not have enough iron to produce hemoglobin a substance in red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout body. Symptom of iron deficiency anemia include fatigue, loss of stamina, shortness of breathing, weankness, dizziness, pallor. Iron deficiency anemia and hypolipidemia (low level of lipids in blood) can be signs of anemia. Hypocholesterides is observed in chronic Iron deficiency anemia.
