Pregnancy represents a critical life event for women, marked by significant physical and psychological changes. The journey through labor can be fraught with pain and complications, particularly when labor is prolonged, increasing the risk of operative interventions. Knowledge of the labor process is essential to minimize risks and ensure a healthy delivery. This study explores the Ayurvedic perspective on labor, specifically the application of Sukhprasavkar lepa, a polyherbal preparation, aimed at easing the labor process. The objectives include reviewing the literature on Sukhprasavkar lepa, examining its ingredients, and proposing its potential mode of action in labor induction. A literary review of classical Ayurvedic texts and modern obstetric literature was conducted. The findings suggest that Sukhprasavkar lepa may enhance cervical dilation, improve labor progression, and reduce the need for interventions, thus contributing to safer childbirth practices. Further clinical studies are recommended to substantiate these findings and facilitate the integration of Ayurvedic methods into contemporary obstetric care.
