Abstract:

Ayu-Diare and Sugoless formulation are natural formulations used for its anti-diabetic properties. Both of these are herbal medicine used for the treatment of Diabetes Mellitus. The aim of the study is “Comparative Evaluation of Anti-Diabetic Activity of Two Herbal Formulations in STZ Induced Diabetes in Rat”. A comparative study was initiated among these two formulations. The ethanolic extracts were prepared by maceration process. Diabetes was induced by streptozotocin. Blood glucose levels were measured before and after the administration of test drug. Firstly, basal value was recorded. Followed by the administration of both the test drug anti-diabetic activity was evaluated by different parameter like blood glucose levels and histopathological examinations. After performing the experiment, it has been concluded that the anti-diabetic activity of Sugoless formulation is better than the Ayu- Diare formulation. After oral administration of Sugoless formulation 60mg/kg and Ayu- Diareformulaation 130mg/kg, Sugoless formulation shows more effective in controlling blood sugar levels.
