Background: Establishing an analytical profile is crucial for ensuring the safety, quality, and efficacy of pharmaceuticals.
Objective: This study aimed to develop an analytical profile for Bhavprakashokta Dushivishari Agad to enhance the standardization and quality control of kwath formulations.
Materials and Methods: The analysis of kwath churna included organoleptic and physicochemical evaluations, alongside chromatographic assessments (HPTLC). Key physicochemical parameters measured included pH at 5%, loss on drying at 110 °C, total ash, water-soluble ash, alcohol-soluble extractives, and water-soluble extractives. For kwath, pH, total solid content at 110 °C, viscosity at 25 °C, and weight per ml at 25 °C were evaluated.
Results: For kwath churna, the results were pH 4.82, loss on drying 7.94%, total ash 1.02%, and other extractive values. For kwath, the pH was 4.88, with total solids at 3.3% and viscosity at 47.80%.
Discussion and Conclusion: This study provides reference values for Bhavprakashokta Dushivishari Agad, facilitating standardization and quality control while highlighting its potential in modern healthcare and the need for further research.
