Abstract:

This study focused on formulating herbal soaps using reetha and Aloe vera via the melt-and-pour method. Seven formulations were evaluated for physicochemical properties, including pH (7.5–9.0), moisture content (10–14%), foam height (4–6 cm), and foam retention (8–12 minutes), adhering to ISI Specification (13498). Antimicrobial testing against E. coli revealed significant activity, with inhibition zones of 18 mm, comparable to gentamicin. The absence of synthetic additives highlights the eco-friendly and skin-compatible nature of these soaps. Results emphasize the potential of reetha and Aloe vera in creating effective and safe personal care products with enhanced antibacterial and skin benefits.
