The study aims to analyze and compare the secondary metabolites present in Plumbago indica, a medicinal plant, using qualitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative analysis of secondary metabolites in Plumbago indica will be done using various chemical tests and chromatography techniques such as TLC (Thin-layer chromatography), and HPLC (High-performance liquid chromatography). Quantitative analysis will also be performed using Uv Vis. Spectroscopy for total phenolic and total flavonoids content. The plant material will be collected, and the various extracts of the plant will be prepared using different solvents. These extracts will then be used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of secondary metabolites. The identified secondary metabolites will be analyzed for their therapeutic potential and compared to the traditional uses of Plumbago indica. The hepatoprotective effect of ethanolic extract will be evaluated using in vivo models. The results obtained from the study will provide valuable information on the hepatoprotective effect of ethanolic extract of Plumbago indica. The ethanolic extract of Plumbago indica may prove to be a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of liver disorders. The results of this study demonstrated that an ethanolic extract of Plumbago indica root can shield the liver from damage brought on by free radicals produced as a byproduct of CCl4 metabolism.
