Pilonidal sinus is a very common anorectic problem often arises in the hair follicles of natal cleft of the sacrococcygeal area due to penetration of hair thought into the skin. Which forms unhealthy granulation tissue in infective origin and occurs in between the buttocks. More common in hair dressers, jeep drivers, 2Q-40 years of age group. It is common in males and mostly hairy men. Prevalence rate of pilonidal disease is about 26 per 100,000 population. When we read Shalyaja Nadi Vrana mentioned by Acharya Sushruta we can correlate this disease with Pilonidal Sinus. Treatment of Nadi Vrana is either Chedana Karma or Kshara Karma.
