There is need to comprehend the effect of natural medicines and Ayurveda to get them to usage, due to the side effects of molecular medicines and their hight cost. Important steps are taken in this regard and many studies are available on the impact of Ayurvedic medications. This paper is a step in this direction, as it gives a detailed account on skin benefits and pharmacological properties of the herbal components of a potential Ayurvedic oil, known as Lakshadi Thailam. This ancient oil is still widely produced and recommended by doctors, proving the importance of the formulation and its rich traditional usage in Indian medicine. Though the Thailam has a base for effective cure for various medical conditions, before the study, there has been nil compilation of the effect of the herbal components of Lakshadi Thailam. The review gives a detailed review analysis of their medicinal effect to skin health.
