Abstract:

The oldest element causing suffering for humanity is varana. The Vedas contain the earliest explanation of Vrana. Ayurveda is regarded as the Atharvavedic Upaveda. Numerous Samhitas provide a thorough analysis of Vrana. As a surgeon, Acharya Sushruta has provided detailed explanations of Vrana and how to manage it. He has clarified Dushtavrana and described how Shashti Upakrama is used to manage it. One of the Shashti Upakramas, Lekhana Karma, has clinical value in the management of Dushtavrana. Thus, the function of Lekhana Karma in the administration of Dushtavrana is summed up in this article.
