Abstract:

Now a days many peoples suffer from cardiovascular diseases (CVD), which widely include the heart and blood vessels related diseases such as hypertension, heart attack etc. This article examines the traditional uses and recent scientific discoveries of Hawthorn (Crataegus spp.) and Arjuna (Terminalia arjuna) in supporting cardiovascular health. Because of its abundance of flavonoids, tannins, and triterpenes, which improve lipid profiles and heart function, arjuna, a sacred herb in Ayurvedic medicine, is recognized for its cardioprotective qualities. Celebrated in both herbal traditions and contemporary phytotherapy, hawthorn is known to promote heart health by lowering blood pressure, increasing circulation, and having antioxidant properties. Both plants may help treat illnesses like heart failure, coronary artery disease, and hypertension, according to recent clinical trials. Their importance is highlighted by this review, which summarizes the body of research on their pharmacological mechanisms, therapeutic advantages, and possible synergistic effects.
