Abstract:

The plant Ziziphus xylopyrus, commonly referred to as Jujab, is a member of the Rhamnaceae family. In some regions of Rajasthan, India, the plant's fruit decoction is used as birth control. As a strong sedative, this herb is frequently utilized in Turkish medicine. A paste made from bark and leaf powder is used externally to treat coughing-related chest discomfort. Z. xylopyrus is used to treat pyorrhea. Because of its astringent properties, the bark is used to make dental sticks and to clean teeth. This plant is also used to cure diarrhea in some regions of India. Pimples. The ethanolic stem bark extract was demonstrated to promote angiogenesis by the CAM model, leading to an increase in the quantity of capillaries on the treated CAM surfaces. This may help control the healing process of wounds. Extracts of dried stem bark from Ziziphus xylopyrus in methanol and chloroform have antibacterial qualities. The in vitro HepG2 cell line was protected against CCl4-induced cell damage by the application of ethyl acetate extract. Both extracts of Ziziphus xylopyrus fruit showed strong antidiarrheal action at an oral dosage of 200 mg/kg body weight; the ethanolic extract showed 89.88% and the aqueous extract showed 51.85%. In an in vitro assay, Ziziphus xylopyrus significantly inhibited the α-glucosidase and α-amylase enzymes.
