Abstract:

Phytochemical screening is a valuable step in identifying the bioactive components of a certain medicinal plants and might result in the development of new drugs. The primary phytoconstituents of 10 ethno medicinal plants were discovered in this study in order to correlate their presence with the plants' bioactivities. The presence of alkaloids, carbohydrates, cardiac glycosides, flavonoids, phenols, proteins & amino acids, saponins, tannins, terpenoids, quinones, resins, and coumarins was found after the plants were screened using conventional techniques. Alkoloids, Carbohydrates, Cardiac glycosides, Flavonoids, Phenols were found in all plants. Amino acids & proteins were found in C. cinereum, T. purpurea, T. procumbens, B. diffusa and C. papaya. Saponins were found in C. cinereum, B. integrifolia, T. purpurea, A. lanata, A. conyzoides, B. ceiba and B. diffusa. Tannins were found in all ten plants. Terpenoids & Quinones were found absent in all ten plants. Resins were found in all plants except C. papaya. Coumarins were found in C. cinereum, B. integrifolia, T. purpurea, A. lanata, & A. conyzoides.
