Abstract:

There are several lipid-rich tissues in our body, including Majja Dhatu, Vasa, and Medo Dhatu. For Vasa, Majja, and Medo Dhatu, the two functional elements, Dharana and Poshana, are important. The fourth of the seven Dhatus that provide the body with its necessary Snehana (grease and unctuousness) is adipose tissue, also known as Medo Dhatu. As Dhatu, Upadhatu, and Mala emerge, a distinct Dhatvagni is essential to this interplay. The Medo Dhatu was so framed by the acts of Medo Dhatvagni. In affluent cultures, santarpanaja vyadhies cause a higher percentage of mortality than cancer. Numerous things, including as pollution, contaminated food, and a sedentary lifestyle, might contribute to it; Meda is said to reduce life expectancy in the majority of these conditions, including Prameha and Sthoulya. Ancient scholars have skillfully expressed the Meda Dhatu in their own unique ways, despite the fact that the details are dispersed throughout the literature. The following study attempts to compile references to Meda Dhatu and lipids from both modern and Ayurvedic literature in order to reach a reasonable conclusion.
