Abstract:

This comprehensive review investigates the impact of mobile device usage on children's neurodevelopment and health through both contemporary scientific and Ayurvedic perspectives. The methodology involved systematic analysis of peer-reviewed literature from PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases (2010-2024) alongside critical review of classical Ayurvedic texts including Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita. Our analysis reveals that mobile device overuse correlates with Vata Dosha aggravation, leading to disturbances in Majja Dhatu (nervous tissue), Agni (digestive fire), and Ojas (vital essence). The findings demonstrate consistent patterns of sleep disruption, attention deficits, and behavioral changes that align with Ayurvedic concepts of Doshic imbalance. This integrative approach provides a novel framework for understanding digital technology's holistic impact on child development and offers preventive strategies based on Ayurvedic principles.
