This review covers a comprehensive botanical, phytochemical and pharmacological information about S. cumini with some integrated experimental LC-MS data (original work by authors). The phytochemistry and pharmacological evaluation of S. cumini L. leaves reveal a diverse profile of bioactive compounds and significant pharmacological properties. The leaves of S. cumini have caffeic acid & quercetin, indicating the significant anti-diabetic activity. LC-MS analysis of the ethanolic extract of S. cumini identified and quantified various bioactive compounds, based on their mass-to-charge ratios and retention times. The outcomes validate traditional use of the plant in managing diabetes and underscore caffeic acid’s potential role as a natural therapy. The approach utilized in this study proves to be selective and effective, warranting further investigations into the separation of plant chemical constituents. This could lead to the development of a potent pharmaceutical molecule with low toxicity and high therapeutic index.
