Abstract: Phytochemical investigation of the ethyl alcohol extract of the tender shoot of Bambusa bamboos (Linn.) Voss yielded p-hydroxybenzaldehyde, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, p-hydroxyphenylacetic acid, β-sitosterol and β-sitosterol-β-D-glucopyranoside. All the compounds are reported for the first time from the tender shoot of Bambusa bamboos.
