Abstract:
Myristrica fragrans Houtt. of Myristicaceae yields the nut-mug and mace which are credited with high flavours and fragrance. They are used in all plants of the word for both as food flavours and for medicinal uses. The present study provides comprehensive microscopic details of the fruit and histochemical localization of the aroma compounds. The study fills the lacuma found in the account of previous investigations.
