The genus Artemisia (family: Asteraceae) is a source of valuable drugs and essential oils because of its intricate chemical composition comprising several chemotypes. The in vitro antibacterial activities of the essential oils were evaluated against a total of six bacteria, viz, Salmonellatyphi, Klebsiellapneumoniae, E.coli, Staphylococcusaureus, Streptococcusmutans, Bacillussubtilis and antifungal activity tested against Candida albicans and Candida glabrata.
