Abstract:
Five sesquiterpenoid quinones were isolated from the aerial parts of Thespesia populnea L (Malvaceae) cultivated in Egypt for the first time. Their structures were determined on the basis of spectral data. The Mansonones were identified as: Mansonones C (1), G (2), E (3), H (4) and 7-hydroxy-2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-3,6,9-trimethylnaphtho[l,8-b,c]pyran-4,8-dione (5).
