Abstract: Citharexylum quadrangulare Jacq., family Verbenaceae. It is a large tree, native of the West Indies. It is used in traditional medicine as diuretic, antipyretic, antiarthritic and liver disorders. The present study investigates various standardized parameters such as macroscopic and microscopic characters which could be helpful in authentication of the leaf of Citharexylum quadrangulare Jacq.
