Abstract:
Euphorbia resinifera Berg, a plant endemic to Morocco, has been reported to possess a number of medicinal properties and is one of the oldest drugs in the Western medicinal tradition. The present study was therefore undertaken to evaluate the effect of root extract of Euphorbia resinifera Berg., for its antioxidant and antimicrobial potential. The roots used in the study were dried and finely powdered. The powder was successively extracted by CH2Cl2, EtOAc, EtOH and acetone. After filtration, the filtrate was concentrated and dried. All obtained extracts were evaluated for their antioxidant and antibacterial activity properties.
