Abstract: Parmentiera cereifera Seem. is one of the edible and medicinal plants. It is known as Candle tree, Candlestick tree and Panama Candle tree. Reviewing the available literature, only two studies could be traced concerning the microscopical features of P. cereifera. The current leaf morphoanatomy studies showed various standardized parameters such as macroscopic and microscopic characters. These various diagnostic features could be helpful in authentication and identification of P. cereifera Seem. leaf.
