Abstract:
In the present work, six medicinally important plants seeds (
Acacia catechu, Sida cordifolia, Momordica fotida, Albiziz procera, Mesua ferrea and Lantana camare) were screened for their phytochemical quantitatively by using U-V Visible spectrophotometer by using 4 different solvent (water [AQ], Acetone [AE], Petroleum Ether [PE] and chloroform [CF]). The quantitative analysis of alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, steroids, saponins and tannins showed the concentration of these seed extracts reveled the presences of different phytochemical compounds like alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, steroids, saponins and tannins in appreciable amounts. The concentration of these phytochemicals varied from species to species and solvent to solvent in these extracts.
