The investigations were conducted with the using of twenty one genotypes (15 F1 hybrids and 6 parents) of pumpkin. The germplasms were evaluated for twenty one morphological, yield and biochemical traits viz., days to first male flower anthesis, days to first female flower anthesis, node number to first male flower, node number to first female flower, days to first fruit harvest, number of primary branches per plant,7. Equatorial circumference of fruit, polar circumference of fruit, Flesh thickness, internodal length (cm), vine length (m), average fruit weight (kg), number of fruits per plant, Fruit yield per plant (kg), dry matter content, total soluble solids, total sugars, reducing sugars, non-reducing sugars, ascorbic acid content and Î²-carotene. The evaluations were conducted consecutively three seasons during 2015-16. The study revealed that mean squares due to genotypes were significant for all the traits during all three seasons (E1, E2, E3). However, the analysis of variance on the basis of pooled revealed that mean squares due genotypes, environments, overall sum found significant for all the traits except overall sum for traits viz., flesh thickness, dry matter content and total sugars content. The investigations further revealed that high phenotypic and genotypic coefficient of variation were observed for vine length, number of fruits per plant, fruit yield per plant, reducing sugars and Î²-carotene. High heritability coupled with high genetic advance were observed for number of fruits per plant, fruit yield per plant, reducing sugars, ascorbic acid and Î²-carotene indicated that the improvement of these traits through selection.
