Abstract:
The present investigation was conducted during
kharif-2014 in the Field Experimentation Centre of the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding to examine 36 black gram genotypes along with one check (SHEKHAR-2) to study Genetic variability, correlation and path analysis for yield in black gram. The experiment was laid out in an in Randomize Block Design with three replications. Analysis of variance showed highly significant differences among 36 genotypes of black gram for 13 characters studied. Moderate genotypic coefficient of variation and phenotypic coefficient of variation was recorded for number of clusters per plant, primary branches per plant and seed yield per plant. All characters showed High broad-sense heritability and high genetic advance as percent of mean was recorded for seed yield per plant and plant height.
