Abstract:
The investigation entitled “Assessment of the efficacy of Neem based insecticides for the management of yellow stem borer,
Scirpophaga incertulas Walk. in paddy field†was carried out at Research cum Instructional Farm of IGKV, Raipur (C.G.) during
Kharif, 2015-16 and Six commercial biopesticides like, Neembaan Neemazal, Nimbecidine, Multineem, Neem oil, NSKE and a chemical insecticide i.e., Dinotefuran were evaluated against stem borer in the field conditions. As per the performance of different treatments, treatment involving Nimbecidine @ 5 ml/l was most effective with overall mean 6.36 percent dead heart and 14.00 percent white ear head. It was closely followed by Neem oil @ 5ml/l overall mean 6.82 percent dead heart and 16.58 percent white ear head.
