Abstract:
Algaes are widely used products globally as medicinal products, cosmetic, and food condiment products. The natural substances derived have multiple interests. Among these compounds, secondary metabolites are to a large extent found. Phytochemical screening enabled us to demonstrate the presence of secondary metabolites in the plant tissues of our algae. The detection of these chemical compounds is based on tests of component solubility, precipitation and turbidity reactions, specific color change or ultraviolet light examination. In the present work, phytochemical characterizations of two macroalgae of the Mauritanian Atlantic coast (Baie de l'étoile)
Have been carried out, to
know;
Sargassum muticum; Cystoseira tamariscifolia. The results obtained demonstrated the presence of several secondary metabolites which may be responsible for important biological properties.
