Genetic variability [Mean, range, general mean, standard error, coefficient of variability (PCV & GCV) in linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.]

Abstract:
The present experiment was conducted using 151 genotypes/varieties of diverse origin were tested in randomized block design with two replications at Nawabganj, Research form of the Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur during rabi 2014-15. Observations were recorded on eleven character namely, days to 50% flowering, size of corolla, number of primary branches per plant, plant height, capsule size, days to maturity, number of capsules per plant, number of seeds per capsule, 1000-seed weight, oil content and grain yield per plant. The maximum value of genotypic coefficient of variability, phenotypic coefficient of variability, heritability and genetic advance were found for number of capsules per plant.
