Abstract: In the present study, an attempt has been made to find out the growth and trends of area, production and productivity of wheat in the State of Uttar Pradesh. The time series data pertaining to the period from 1970-71 to 2010-11 on area, production and productivity of wheat crop have been utilized to study the growth, trends and projection. The secondary data have been obtained from the Bulletins of Directorate of Agricultural Statistics and Crop-Insurance, Krishi Bhawan, Lucknow, Government of Uttar Pradesh. The results show that the growth rate area, production and productivity have increased during all the decades and during the entire period of the study.
