Abstract:
Hibiscus cannabinus is found throughout Africa and Asia. It is a warm- season annual fiber crop. Its flowers are mainly useful as emollient, demulcent, seeds as aphrodisiac, purgative, etc. Hibiscus sabdariffa is found mostly in Africa i.e; Sudan, Asia, Srilanka, Thailand, Malaysia etc. It is used as a vegetable, Herbal medicine, anti-hypertensive, laxative, Vermifuge etc. The present review is focused on the Phamacognostical characters like scientific classification, vernacular names and the plants' potential in biological activity against mosquitoes.
