Abstract: Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is an ornamental flowering shrub that have been found in all the households. The flowers have got ornamental, neutraceutical and ethical values in India. The flowers are rich in anthocyanin which can be used as a food colourant. High genotypic and phenotypic coefficient of variance was observed for characters like leaf area, petal width, style length, bud width, leaf length, flower diameter, single flower weight, anthocyanin content and flower yield. Flower yield was found to be positively related with floral parameters like petal length, petal width, style length and single flower weight.
