Abstract: A field trial was carried out to screen cape gooseberry selections based on plant growth characteristics and fruit yield. The data obtained showed significant variation for the growth characteristics and fruit yield in different selections. Maximum plant height (103.16 cm) and plant spread (176.13 cm) was recorded in selection 7. Maximum number of main and lateral branches were found maximum in selection 3(6.67) and selection 2 (16.00), respectively. Maximum stem thickness (13.98 mm), number of leaves per branch (58.67) and fruit yield per plant (3.64 kg/plant) were recorded in selection 9, selection 17 and selection 23, respectively.
