Ayurveda has expounded on a number of concepts pertaining to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Among its many approaches to disease diagnosis and cure is the concept of Nidan panchak. Samprati, Purvroop, Roop, Upshaya, and Nidan are subtypes that make up Nidan panchak. In Ayurveda, Roga pariksha is completed prior to receiving further care.[1] Samprapti is one of the essential elements of this Nidana panchaka, without which we are unable to decide on a treatment plan. In a clinical setting, taking a history is crucial. A proper history takes the clinician one step closer to a diagnosis. Appropriate therapy begins with a correct diagnosis; care is haphazard when a disease is misdiagnosed or poorly understood. Therefore, a diagnosis of the condition is necessary first. In addition to aiding in disease diagnosis, samprapti knowledge offers details on the prognosis, treatment, and differential diagnosis of the illness. Thus, a diagnosis of the condition is necessary first.
