The current work focuses on the development and evaluation of a polyherbal emulgel formulated using Gotu kola (Centella asiatica), Turmeric (Curcuma longa), Kalmegh (Andrographis paniculata), Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra), Tea tree oil, and Lavender oil for topical wound healing applications. Skin being the body’s largest organ plays a vital role in protection, sensory functions, and immune surveillance, and its integrity is crucial for overall health. Wound healing is a complex physiological process involving hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling phases, which can be impaired by infections and chronic conditions. The formulated polyherbal emulgel combines the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, and collagen-promoting activities of the selected herbal ingredients. Emulgel systems enhance drug delivery through better skin penetration, prolonged release, and improved patient compliance. The formulation was characterized for physical appearance, pH, spreadability, rheology, washability, swelling index, bioadhesive strength, and drug content. The developed polyherbal emulgel demonstrated good physicochemical properties and offers a promising, safe, and natural alternative for wound healing compared to conventional synthetic treatments.
