Akal Palitya (premature greying of hair) is Rasapradoshaja Vikara stated by Acharya Charaka in Vimanasthana. It is emerging as a prevalent and rapidly increasing cosmetic concern in today’s society. The etiological factors (Hetu) causing Rasavaha Srotodushti play a significant role in the pathogenesis of Akal Palitya. Contributing factors include excessive intake of heavy, oily, and cold food, as well as the simultaneous consumption of both wholesome and unwholesome foods. Additionally, psychological stress (Atichinta) is a major causative factor. As stated by Acharya Charaka, “Nidana Parivarjana is Ardha Chikitsa, emphasizing that avoidance of causative factors is crucial in preventing the progression and achieving the effective management of Akal Palitya.
