Abstract:
A field experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of bio-fertilizers and inorganic manures on plant growth and flowering of chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum grandiflora) cv. Haldighati, during Sep. 2014 to Feb. 2015 and Sep. 2015 to Feb. 2016 at Floriculture Research Field, Department of Horticulture, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture Technology and Sciences, Allahabad (U.P.). Different levels and combination of bio fertilizers and inorganic manures was applied to assess the vegetative and floral characteristics of chrysanthemum. The experiment was laid out in factorial randomised block design (FRBD) with sixteen treatments and three replications. The maximum plant height (28.80 cm) in 2014 and (30.30 cm) in 2015 were observed in the treatment T15 (Azospirillum + PSB + N175:P125:K125). Regarding the different parameters of growth and flowering significantly higher [number of primary branches (3.77) in 2014 and (4.37), number of secondary branches (10.47) in first year and (12.77) in second year, number of leaves (78.47) and (79.73) in 2014 and 2015, plant spread (29.77 cm) first year (32.07 cm) second year, leaf area (13.13) and (15.57) in 2014 and 2015, duration of flowering (11.73) first year and (12.03) second year, (79.13) and (76.73) days taken to flowering, days taken to first flower bud appearance (61.93) in 2014 and (59.87) in 2015, days taken to 50 percent flowering (72.40) in first year and (69.70) in second year] were reported in the treatment T13 (Azospirillum + N175:P125:K125)
